My art process is a meditative practice that quiets my brain. I want to share joy and a connection to nature in a world where we are relentlessly being separated from both. I am inspired by the natural world around me where I live in Ottawa, Canada, and the places I travel. My abstracts are joyful and colourful explorations of colour and form. My abstract landscapes are a collection of elements from places that make up my memories: the colours of the wildflowers in bloom, the birds soaring, the fog at low tide. I push the abstraction of the details while trying to maintain a sense of the memory and emotion of a place.
